Supply Organizing Hacks
Site Change Baggies
We created site change baggies to streamline the process and make packing easier. When a site change is needed, we grab a bag and head to the couch to get it done. Packing is smoother with these bags. I calculate how many bags to pack by looking at how many site changes for the days we'll be away, double that number and pack that many ready-made bags. Make site change easier on children by including something fun for them. Here is a list of things we have included:
Skin
Include products to clean the new site as well as take care of the old site.
Pump Supplies
Include everything to fill the pump cartridge. We include a penny in the baggies to make removing the old cartridge easier.
Surprise for kids
We like to soften the blow of site changes by including something special to keep them busy.

Supply Drawer
We designate a supply drawer in a central location in the house. Having supplies organized allows you to keep up with inventory needs and makes the days run smoothly. Everyone knows where to go to treat a low or get site change supplies.
Low Treatments
Everyone is different when it comes to what works well for them. Our kids respond well to honey sticks and glucose tabs for regular lows and liquid glucose shots for more serious lows.
Emergency Glucagon
We keep low dose and emergency dosing guidelines as well as alcohol wipes and syringes with our glucagon kit.
CGM & Pump kits
We put alcohol wipes, adhesive barrier wipes, and adhesive remover wipes with CGMs to make it easy to grab and go.
